Here is the easiest to do this update: 

1. Download Pipo S1 firmware mixed S3 v2.0b from here or from here. Extract the firmware .img file to your desktop.

2. Put your Pipo S1 in 'firmware update mode'. 

3. Run Rockchip Batch Tool v1.6, select the proper image .img file from your desktop, and after your device is found by the program, press the 'Restore' button and wait for 2-3 minutes to finish.

Pipo S1 firmware mixed S3 v2.0b has the following features: 

- Integrated Root (run SuperSu to update files after installing ROM). 

- Default language English.
- A standard set of applications for english version plus added DocumentsToGo.
- The pixel density is reduced to 120dpi so everything is smaller.
- A bit faster performance.
- No bugs, used older firmware versions, the memory card does not fall off, the sound does not fall off.
- Important: To prevent WiFi from turning off in sleep mode, you need to stick "Always" in the WiFi settings.
- The system partition is increased to 2 GB.

2. Put your Pipo S1 in 'firmware update mode'. 

3. Run RKAndroidTool, and after your device is found by the program press the 'Run' button and wait for 2-3 minutes to finish.

The easiest way to install CWM on your Pipo Smart S1 tablet

So, after installing and rooting your Pipo Smart S1 tablet, the next thing to do is to install CWM on your Pipo S1. 

Here is the easiest way to do that: 

1. Put your Pipo S1 in 'firmware update mode'. 

2. Download Pipo S1 CWM by Danyrolux.rar from here or from here, extract it and run RKAndroidTool.exe. Leave all the fields intact and press 'Flash Rom' button.

3. Wait  for the proccess to finish and reboot your tablet. You're done!
4. [Optional] If you want to upgrade from CWM-based  Recovery v6.0.2.7 to v6.0.2.8, then download this zip file, copy it on your micro SD card, reboot into recovery and install it. See the below video for details.

5. Update. Download and install like above CWM v.6.0.3.1 from here, here or here. 

Attention!
For 4.2.2 firmware version you have to:

- Double click on recovery address and change it from '0x00010000' to '0x00014000'. 
- Leave all the rest fields intact and press 'Flash Rom' button.  
- Wait  for the proccess to finish and reboot your tablet. You're done!

The easiest way to root Pipo Smart S1 tablet

So, after installing an unrooted firmware version like 20130325 on your Pipo Smart S1 tablet, the next thing to do is to root your Pipo S1.

Here is the easiest way to do that:

1. Download and install Moborobo.

2. Run Moborobo, connect your tablet to PC via USB cable and wait for the application to see your Pipo S1 connected.

3. Download Pipo S1 Root by Danyrolux.rar from here or from here, extract an run Pipo S1 Root by Danyrolux batch file.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions; press any key when you are asked, the tablet will reboot 3 times and you're done!

So, this is the easiest way to put your Pipo Smart S1 tablet in 'firmware update mode':

1. Make sure your tablet is turned off.
2. Connect USB to tablet, but not computer yet.
3. Hold volume - button down and connect USB to the computer.
4. The Rockchip tool should now see the tablet and give you the green light.

Pipo S1 newest firmware update english version 20130325

You can download the newest firmware from Pipo from here or here. The installation process is the same with this one. This version do not has root access also, but it is very simple to gain root acces. 

How to properly install and play 'The Adventures of Tintin' on Pipo Smart S1 tablet

What do you need?

1. Acquire 'The Adventures of Tintin' game from Play Store.

2. You must have a rooted firmware installed on your Pipo Smart S1 tablet, like TNT Release 5 Firmware or TNT Release 3 Firmware (like in my case).

3. Optional, you can install 'Build Prop Editor', free from Playstore, and change your model name to something with a better compatibility with Gameloft games (like SGH-i777, in my case)

4. Download and install Full!screen from Play Store.

5. Run the Full!screen then run the game.
