a leaked version of Android 4.3 for Galaxy Note 2 was available for download couple of days ago. it is stable enough for daily use and you can even run some of the apps from the Galaxy Note 3

a new Twitter app with tabletUI which is optimized for the next coming Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition leaked and is available for download now. although it may show you an old, existing interface on devices with smaller screen, it runs on my Galaxy Note 2 N7105 in tablet mode beautifully

Samsung Galaxy browser default storage not saved bug fix

a bug for many or all Samsung Galaxy products including S3, Note 2, Note 10.1, Tab 2, etc since Android 4.x. the problem is, default storage location in the stock browser cannot be saved or remembered. it is a known and frustrating bug since almost a year ago which exists in all roms i have studied. even if you have set the location to device, the next time the browser loads again (not by switching apps) or the phone is rebooted then the setting is gone

the fix below is based on Galaxy S3 I9300 XXEMB2 deodexed stock browser, without any other modification

only XXEMB2 is available at this moment (can be used with some other recent deodexed roms)



installation

- do a backup first
- zip format: extract all files to the system folder, set the permissions to 664 if needed (usually not), and reboot
- cwm format: download to your internal or external sdcard and run update zip from the recovery mode
- start the browser and select the default storage again to ensure it is updated

Premium Suite for Samsung Galaxy S3 rolling out

Samsung just started rolling out the Premium Suite upgrade for their flagship GT-I9300 Galaxy S3 in UK. certain new features found in the Galaxy Note 2 will be included in this Android 4.1.2 update like Multi Window, as well as other new camera enhancements like Best Face and Low Light Mode, Paper Artist, Contextual Awareness and the like

I9300XXELK4 Android 4.1.2 repack with multi window for SGS3 leaked

Samsung is going to include multi window (or multi view), a great feature in the Galaxy Note 2, in the next coming Android 4.1.2 release for Samsung Galaxy S3.

with multi window, one can open up another app and have it shown on the screen by splitting the screen into top and bottom panels. here is what it looks like

a xda member, Faryaab, has repacked the leaked XXELK4 and is available for S3 users who would like to try out the new beta firmware. note that, this is NOT a official firmware and bugs are expected. more, according to Faryaab, flashing this firmware will increase your flash counter, although many of you can cope with this issue already. anyway, make sure you read the original post here
