Exynos 4 Quad for Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300?

UPDATE: Samsung Galaxy S3 unveiled with specifications and features

Samsung announced a new Exynos 4 Quad CPU at 1.4GHz recently before introducing the SGS3 or Galaxy SIII. it is the first processor built on the 32nm HKMG (High-k Metal Gate) technology based on the ARM Cortex A9 architecture.

this processor doubles the performance when compared with the previous 45nm processor but 20% less power consumption. and with the multi-core processing design, it means the four cores handle different tasks simultaneously and hence allowing users to perform more tasks in less time

more, the new Exynos 4 Quad processor can produce 30fps (frames per second) HD 1080p video recording and playback and equipped with an HDMI 1.4 interface



officials from Samsung also said this new processor will be used in the next Galaxy S generation, which will be unveiled in early May this year. this means it is very likely to be shipped with the Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.0.3

however, it is rumored that this processor will be availble for international versions only, except the USA market

Galaxy Note ICS TwLauncher tablet mode preview

this is a modded Samsung ICS touchwiz launcher in tablet mode or tabletui for the Galaxy Note based on the leaked Chinese I9220 ZCLP6 Android 4.0.3 rom. all modifications were baesd on original Samsung files so it is a pure stock SGN TW launcher tablet mode experience in 212 dpi

i started this mod for an very attractive US$680 bounty for AT&T SGH-I717 initially, but my phone was not repaired yet and thus missed the chance to win the bounty. actually it is no fun to work with the smali files at all, so i stopped modding it after finishing the navbar part as the final piece of the puzzle

new Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 leaked?

a prototype like Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300, aka SGS3, is shown in a video and flooding the internet recently before official announcement on 3 May. the specifications are revealed also although the final design is yet to be seen, as the Samsung officials claimed all test phones are wrapped in generic plastic cases in order to keep it secret. on the back, however, we can see the phone speaker is placed alongside the camera and the LED in a row


below are some of the specifications highlight of the rumored SGS3 with Android ICS 4.0.3:
- quad core 1.4 GHz processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 4.6 inch Super AMOLED HD screen
- 320 dpi with 1184 x 720 resolution
- 8 mega pixel camera

I9100ZSLPG available for FOTA upgrade

Samsung released ZSLPG, another ICS 4.0.3 update, for Galaxy S2 I9100 in Hong Kong today and is available for upgrade via Kies and FOTA. the overall performance and smoothness is enhanced, and the IMAP problem is fixed. besides, Samsung HK now provides an official guide for FOTA although currently only Traditional Chinese version is available

new ICS 4.0.3 I9100XWLP7 SGS2 firmware

XWLP7 was released for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 with some extra apps and games preloaded. while there should be not too much changes in this rom, the scrolling is smoother than XXLPS and XWLP4 according to users responses.

Premium Suite with ICS for Galaxy Note preview

Samsung uploaded a movie showing some new features of the upcoming premium suite with Ice Cream Sandwich for SGN including innovative shape- and formula-match. besides, they announced the suite will come with an exclusive GALAXY Note level in Angry Birds Space with a special package of 30 challenging levels in "Danger Zone", which will be available from 22 March to 21 Jun 2012
